Hace unas semanas recibí este hermoso clutch de la colección de Invierno de Juicy Couture. Con los calores que venimos sufriendo por estas latitudes, un bolso de terciopelo puede parecer un poco fuera de lugar pero tomémoslo como puntapié para echar un vistazo a lo que van a ser las tendencias para la próxima temporada.
Aunque a muchos les remita a cortinas de teatro y la época de María Antonieta, el terciopelo fue una de las telas IT de la temporada en el hemisferio norte así que no se sorprendan si en un par de meses inunda nuestras vidrieras también. Desde Alexander Wang, pasando por Armani, Gucci, Anna Sui y Zac Posen, tanto en sacos y pantalones como en bolsos y zapatos, ninguno pudo escapar a la suavidad y lujo que inspira.
A pesar de ello, hay que tener cuidado con como se usa para no terminar pareciendo un personaje del Renacimiento. Lo ideal es no usar más de una prenda de terciopelo con telas más livianas, como siempre el punto es no abusar de una misma tendencia.
Yo personalmente no veo la hora de que baje la temperatura para sacar a pasear mi sobre nuevo sin que me salga sarpullido.
PD: Feliz vispera de reyes! A no olvidarse del pastito y el agua junto con los zapatitos, ojalá reciban muchas cosas lindas!

A few weeks ago I received this beautiful clutch from Juicy Couture’s winter Collection. With the high temperatures we’ve been suffering at this latitude, a velvet bag may seem a bit out of place but let’s take it as a hint of the coming trends for the next season.
Even though for some of you it might remind of theater curtains and the times of Marie Antoinette, velvet was one of the IT fabrics of the season at the Northen Hermisphere so don’t be surprised if in a couple of months you see it everywhere. From Alexander Wang, from Armani, Gucci, Anna Sui and Zac Posen, in jackets, trousers even bags and shoes, none could escape from the softness and luxurious it inspires.
Despite of that, you have to be careful not to end up looking like a Reinassance character. The ideal is not to wear more than one velvet piece at a time matching it with lighter fabrics, as always the point is not to abuse from one single trend.
I personally can’t wait to the temperatures drop down a little to take out for a walk my new clutch without getting a rash.
