Crazy on you

There are times when you don’t want to see THAT person, you avoid common places, walk extra blocks just not to pass in front of a bar you’ve once seen him, change your scheduled not to see him on the way back home. Well, (even though I’ve never got to the previous extremes) I have such a bad luck that the most likely to happen is that all effort was in vain.

That’s how it was, sort of. It was Sunday, it was really windy so my hair looked like a bird nest and as I went out very quickly, I caught the first coat I found on my way: a HUGE old jacket from my dad. You can now get an idea of how I looked like...

I got into the bakery store, without minding on put back on place my hair and I saw someone bended over the croissants on my side. I didn’t get (or needed) to see him too much, the faded jeans... those old Converses... the striped sweater... were enough to paralyzed me at the door as if I had concrete blocks on my feet and were waiting to be thrown to the bottom of the river.

The shop assistant, that looked at me from behind the counter, must have thought I was a retarded or something because I stand there for a couple of minutes trying to clear my mind to remind what I came to buy.

Looking out of the corner of my eye, I saw he stand up and walk towards the scale that was just in front of me. In the meantime, after asking twice how much it was, I tried to hide the shaking of my hands and get the money out of my bloody pocket. Actually, the only thing I wanted to was to run out of there and never came back.

As I took my time, the woman, probably a bit tired of my weird behavior, turned towards him. I could felt a knot on my stomach, for an instant I stopped breathing waiting for the answer, waiting to hear his voice, that voice that gave me so much joy but also a lot of sadness.

And that was when a completely unknown voice answered. I know it’s a cliché but I swear it was like I had my soul back. I even almost started laughing; I’ve never felt so stupid. Anyway and just in case, I payed quickly and disappeared. Definitely, I’m not ok and I’ll never put a foot back on that bakery store ever again.

Besos!

I remember when I was little and my mom bought me a book to make paper dolls and play to dress them. I absolutely adored it, I used to spend hours and hours dressing the little dolls and even, creating new accessories for them.
Now older, I found a new similar addiction through Polyvore but this week I came across something new, Looklet (www.looklet.com). According to themselves: "Looklet is a brand new styling studio where you can combine every piece in our fashion collection to mix, match and create your personal looks. All clothes are real, selected by stylists, from real designers."
At first sight it sound a lot like Polyvore but if you look at the results you'll see that it's quite different. And it's because that at Looklet what you do is basically dress digital dolls, you can choose between different models and facial expressions, add accessories and pick a background and different photo effects. The result is something that may pass as an editorial photo.
I loved it but I think I still prefer Polyvore because it's more flexible and allows more creativity. Anyway, it's clear that is a growing website so surely in the future they'll be adding new tools to allow a better interaction for the users.
I leave you some of the looks I've made so you can judge for yourselves! Kisses!

Fashion Report: Vinchas/Headbands

December is here and Christmas and New Year's parties are coming. With so many events but without the budged to wear something new for each occasion, a lot of us choose to invest in a LBD and the key to make the repetition unnoticeable is on accessories. A good option to complete a look and add some glow are headbands, that made an statement since Leighton Meester's character, Blair Waldorf at Gossip Girl made of them her signature look.
For the evening, the ones with feathers, stones and sequins are ideal. Also another big trend are huge bows, are Uma showed on her last runway show at the BAF. Other option are chains, that can be worn as we are used to or over the forehead for a hippie chic look, as Nicole Ritchie and Mischa Barton usually wear.
I'm in the search of one, Vitamina has a beautiful one with crystals at $138, 47Street has one similar but a little simpler at $39 and at Todo Moda, they have several headbands to choose, at $15 aprox. Some international options are the ones Forever21 has, they offer a lot of different designs and all for less than USD10 (they ship worldwide) and finally, my favorite, from Juicy Couture with elastic band and embellished with gems, but unfortunately it costs USD65. =(
Do you wear headbands? How do you combine them? If you know another shop that has cute headbands please tell me about it!
